This is my tenth year teaching at Pomeroy Elementary School. I have taught one year in kindergarten, one year in sixth grade, and eight years in third grade. Every year has been exciting and memorable, as I have been lucky to teach such wonderful students. Pomeroy Elementary is a great place where I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic students, staff, and parents.
I grew up in Pomeroy, and moved back to farm with my husband Jacob after graduating from WSU in 1999. We welcomed Jace, our first son, in 2001 and our second son, Trent, in 2004. They are the loves of our life, and we enjoy every minute we spend with them!
Here's a bit more information on my educational background. I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I completed my Masters Degree in Technology in Education through Lesley University, and was Nationally Board Certified in November 2009. I am a life long learner and hope to continue with my own education.
In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize the idea of teamwork. I value cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom and as I work with my peers. I believe that great things can happen when we work together!
